POTS? phones will require an ATA? to convert the telephone port into an RJ45 port for connecting to the LAN?. Once the ATA has been setup with the credentials, the owner can set the device to the location. This will match the ATA with the IP address, and that would allow any other device that is displaying your telephone number as the Caller ID will show up as Possible Scam as the person calling. This is because scammers will never use their legitimate number, and that would apply even more so with Kaldus.
One thing to note, rotary telephones are not supported with the Kaldan telephone network. This is because most ATAs don’t know how to work with the rotary clicks that a rotary telephone uses. Therefore, all POTS telephones must be push button, and DTMF turned on. Considering rotary phones have started falling out of favor in the mid 1980s, it is unlikely many of them are working today.
